Literacy Professional Learning for All Educators Grades 4–8
Lexia® Aspire™ Professional Learning, grounded in the science of reading, is a flexible, self-paced, digital solution that empowers all educators to accelerate literacy skills among students in grades 4-8.
Acceleration For All
With 85% of public-school curriculum being delivered via reading text, literacy is a cornerstone for success across all core classes. Students must read well to perform well. That’s why, for both students and educators, it’s incredibly beneficial when schools integrate literacy best practices across the curriculum beyond early-elementary grades.
Based on the science of reading, Aspire is a professional learning solution designed to meet the needs of all educators in grades 4–8, from the content area and classroom educators to interventionists and ELA educators. Aspire trains all educators to weave literacy skills and strategies into their instruction so they can support learners to read, comprehend, and articulate their ideas across various subjects.
Aspire equips educators with the knowledge and skills they need to apply evidence-based strategies to a classroom of students who have varying levels of literacy competencies. Educators can also choose the content that’s most relevant to improving their students’ literacy outcomes.
In upper elementary and middle school, the focus becomes reading to learn—rather than learning to read. A teacher who’s knowledgeable and skilled in the application of the science of reading can create an equitable learning environment for all students and foster continued literacy growth.
Provided with insightful, actionable data, leaders can make more informed decisions. Aspire helps leaders visualize the impact the professional learning program has on their districts, schools, and individual educators, which enables them to target support in ways that can ultimately contribute to student success.
Choice, agency, and flexibility
Aspire’s on-demand flexible solution supports educators’ individualized needs in Structured Literacy instruction and allows districts to provide directed pathways to achieve specific goals. Courses can be revisited as needed to enhance ongoing professional learning.
Personalized, continuous, and sustained learning

Educators who need additional support will receive it through personalized, scaffolded instruction, which is provided at the end of each course, ensuring educators develop the skills they need to support student literacy learning in a relevant and engaging manner.
Practical and transferable
The courses in Aspire support upper-elementary and middle-school educators with meaningful research as well as “Bridge to Application” opportunities that apply evidence-based concepts and best practices in daily classroom instruction with ready-to-use classroom resources.
Evidence-based content and pedagogy
Aspire uses evidence-based findings from the science of reading, which solidifies an understanding of how language and literacy systems work for adolescent students by informing the why, what, and how of effective and comprehensive instruction for better student outcomes.
Powerful data for leaders
Aspire’s powerful data enables school leaders to monitor the progression of their educators’ professional learning journey, provide direction and guidance, and celebrate their individual or collective work.
Recognition for completion
