This helps build our customers' confidence in selecting the right instruction or professional learning solutions to meet their goals.
Committed to research
We hold ourselves to a higher standard of efficacy. We know you do too.
Our mission is to create opportunity for every student through the power of literacy education so we hold ourselves to the highest standards of efficacy research. Lexia's commitment to gold standard outcome studies and peer reviewed efficacy research is at the forefront of our industry.
A Diverse and Comprehensive Body of Evidence
Lexia products are backed by a diverse and comprehensive body of evidence to help educators take the guesswork out of selecting the right instruction or professional learning solution. Lexia's wide range of research makes it easier for schools and districts to ensure Lexia's programs are assisting students in an ever-changing education climate.
Lexia confirms our research is meeting our high-efficacy standards by placing an emphasis on peer-reviewed, published research studies, independent, third-party evaluations, reviews by research organizations, and internal research and reports.
Peer-Reviewed, Published Research Studies
A unique level of Lexia's diverse body of evidence includes peer-reviewed publications evaluating the impact of Lexia programs. There are more than 15 peer-reviewed, published articles on Lexia programs that have been rigorously evaluated by experts in the field and deemed worthy of publication in established scientific journals. These findings enable us to state with confidence that Lexia's programs are not just research-based, they are evidence-based. And importantly, these studies — which have shown that our programs are proven to improve learning outcomes — also meet the standards of evidence described in the ESSA law.
Journals in which these studies have been published include:
- Computers in the Schools
- Journal of Applied Developmental Psychology
- Journal of Educational Research
- Journal of Learning Disabilities
- Reading and Writing
Independent, Third-Party Evaluations
The most objective tier of Lexia's evidence base includes external, third-party studies conducted by independent researchers throughout the U.S. and Europe. There are currently more than 10 independent studies on Lexia programs. This level of research adds credibility to the evidence base.
These studies have been used to:
- Assess the effectiveness of Lexia programs
- Evaluate Lexia programs as part of broader education reform initiatives
- Study the benefits of edtech product features
Reviews by Research Organizations
Another tier of Lexia's diverse body of evidence includes reviews of our research studies by respected external research organizations. These organizations evaluate and rate the quality of our research relative to technical criteria. We regularly submit Lexia studies for external review to further establish the credibility of our findings.

Internal Research & Reports
One set of reports produced by Lexia is based on research conducted in-house by our experienced team. The main goal of these internal reports is to evaluate how Lexia products are being used by our partners and to help assess the overall impact the programs are having on students. Examples of internal research include National and State-Level Usage and Progress Reports, Correlational Reports that describe relationships between usage and progress in Lexia programs and widely used literacy assessments to demonstrate the validity of our in-program metrics, and Research Briefs that describe the results of efficacy studies conducted by Lexia researchers.
