Superintendent Sets Sights on Aggressive Literacy Goal— And Succeeds
When she first arrived in Susquehanna Township School District, Superintendent Tamara Willis found the district lacked sufficient materials to support a core reading program. As Willis began to search for a literacy program that would support teachers and engage students, she learned about a neighboring district’s success with Lexia® Core5® Reading, an adaptive blended learning literacy program. When she reviewed Core5, Willis immediately saw that it was motivating and engaging for students. Importantly, it also provided instructional support for the six areas of reading, including phonics, that are necessary for literacy proficiency.
