According to the 2022 National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), the nation’s reading scores for age 9 students fell by five points in 2022. What’s more, students in the bottom 10th percentile saw even sharper decreases, exacerbating gaps in performance between higher- and lower-performing students. With federal funding still available, district and school leaders are looking for solutions to help students quickly make gains, particularly those proven effective during the pandemic’s interrupted learning environment. Lexia® offers solutions that can accelerate literacy and language learning for all students, no matter where learning takes place.
Proven to Accelerate Learning
At Lexia, we continually evaluate our programs to ensure they are having the greatest impact possible on student learning. This helps our partners be confident they are selecting the right instruction to meet their goals. Lexia has conducted studies during the pandemic to assess how its programs mitigate the deep impact of interrupted learning and significantly accelerate literacy gains.

Lexia Core5 Reading is an adaptive blended learning program that accelerates the development of literacy skills for pre-K–5 students of all abilities. Core5 has been proven to accelerate learning in as little as 10 weeks, and it accelerated learning even during the pandemic. In a nationwide study of 12,000 students conducted during the 2020-2021 school year, more than 80% of students who used Core5 did not have learning loss and 40% of Core5 users exceeded their MAP Growth goals. Core5 also accelerated learning regardless of students’ gender, race, Emergent Bilingual or special education status
PowerUp Literacy accelerates literacy gains for students in grades 6–12 who are at risk of not meeting College- and Career-Ready Standards. Proven to be up to five times as effective as the average middle school reading intervention, PowerUp also accelerated learning during the pandemic. During the 2020-2021 school year, 50% of students who used the program covered three or more grade levels of skills in a single academic year. PowerUp has been proven effective for all students regardless of their race/ethnicity and Emergent Bilingual or special education status.
